Below are photos of some of the butterflies we found during a 4 week trip to Uganda, involving many half-day safaris in game preserves and national parks. Depending upon the day, photos were mostly shot with a Canon eos 90d. Many thanks to David Otto from Grassrootz for his guiding expertise!
I've included nearly all the butterflies that I was able to photograph, thus there may be some less-than National Geographic quality photos included here -- it's not intended to be a show-case for contest-worthy photos, but rather as an educational/outreach site. If you spot any iindividuals that may be misidentified, please email me. Identifications were made primarily using iNaturalist.
