Harlequin Darner (Gomphaeshna furcillata)

Males have clear wings, gray-brown to green eyes, yellowish to green thorax markings, and both pale green and orangish spots on the abdomenal segments. (See photos below for variation.)

Females are similar but they also amber tinting in the wings (usually), whitish spots along the sides of the abdomen, and the tip of the abdomen is clubbed. (See photos below for variation.)

Note that while Harlequin Darners often rest on tree trunks, they are not always vertical, as noted by the seven individuals in this photograph!
