White-faced Ibis (Plegadis chihi)

Common in the western US, White-faced Ibis has become almost regular but still very rare in NC in recent winters.

This ibis was discovered 7 November 2008 (I think) during the Wings Over Water Wildlife Festival. The evening of the 8th, discussion turned toward the ID of this bird, thinking it isn't necessarily a Glossy Ibis but perhaps could be a White-faced Ibis, which would be the second North Carolina record for that species.

My personal opinion is that this is a White-faced Ibis (Plegadis chihi), because I believe the eyes are becoming reddish. Other than eye color, young ibises may not be identifiable in the field.
