Common in the eastern half on North Carolina in a wide variety of habitats, Carolina Jessamine is a woody vine that trails along the ground and climbs shrubs & trees. Native and beautiful to look at, do not ingest this plant because all parts are toxic!

Formerly classified in the Loganiaceae, current evidence suggests this genus deserves its own family. The flowers have a pleasant lemony or baby powder aroma. Carolina Jessamine is the state flower of South Carolina!
