The NC State entomology collection hosts at least ten species in this genus from NC. These beetles are very small with large eyes.

This was a very fast runner on the beach, avoiding the frequent charges of nearby tiger beetles (Cicindela repanda).

Very small beetle, about a third the size of the nearby tiger beetles. Thanks to Melissa Chernick for identification help!
