Green Salamander (Aneides aeneus)

This species complex is fairly rare and is thought to contain 2 or more valid species based on DNA studies. Found in scattered mountain locations from West Virginia to Georgia, Green Salamanders hide and nest in moist narrow crevices in rock outcrops, and they feed up in trees.
