Common statewide in NC, as the name indicates, this species flies in the springtime.

Rotated 90 degrees. Note it was quite cool (around 40 deg. F) in the morning, thus the blue and green coloration appears quite dull.

We found this darner after dark at the porch light. Hard to determine how much of its time was spent foraging v. trying to escape the low ceiling of the porch. We think it was mostly the latter.
