In the coastal plain and eastern piedmont in NC, Henry's Elfins are found most frequently on mud or nectaring on such shrubs & small trees as Eastern Redbud, various blueberries, sweetleaf, or Wild Plum. They're single-brooded, uncommon to fairly common, and fly only in the springtime. Note some authors place this species in the genus Deciduphagus and some place it in Incisalia.
