Edwards' Hairstreak (Satyrium edwardsii)

Rare and local in the mountains and sandhills of NC, this hairstreak has a single brood and flies from late May to early July. In MI, Edward's Hairstreaks are more common, but still restricted to localized habitats in the lower peninsula, flying from June into August.
