This female goose is over 12 years old. It was banded as an adult on Bylot Island, Nunavut, Canada in 1997.

A common sight of the upper North Carolina coastal plain, Snow Geese are white bodies with white wings and black wingtips.

This is a tiny fraction of the Snow Goose flock, present every year, at Pungo Unit of Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. Note that there are lots of Tundra Swans already in the field.
